OPUS 12 Chapters - The Basics
- OPUS 12 Chapters are composed of highly motivated scientists from various disciplines who wish to join other individuals with similar interests locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally.
- Each Chapter is named after the city (i.e., Philadelphia Chapter) or general geographic area (i.e., Lehigh Valley Chapter) in which its members reside.
- OPUS 12 Chapters can be established in several ways:
- By an existing OPUS 12 member who wishes to establish a local chapter in the given area.
- By a group of 2 or more highly motivated individuals who desire to join the OPUS 12 organization, in which case a proposal from members of the group should be sent to the OPUS 12 Foundation President and/or Chairman.
- By an appointment from OPUS 12 President and/or Chairman, provided that the apointed individual accepts and agrees to establish a local Chapter.
- Each OPUS 12 Chapter has a pre-determined structure, including President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer, all of which are elected officers.
- OPUS 12 Chapters meet yearly at our Annual Science Forum. At that time, research ideas are exchanged, new projects initiated, and scientific poster/oral exhibits are presented.
- Initial chapter membership is $125 for residents/fellows/physician assistants/nurse practitioners, and $250 for attending physicians.
- Subsequent membership is $75 yearly for residents/fellows/physician assistants/nurse practitioners, and $200 yearly for attending physicians.
